Project Amsterdam

For a canal house in Amsterdam, I designed a completely new interior for the ground floor. The wish? An interior that feels luxurious, radiates warmth, and suits the character of the building, without becoming heavy or traditional. The design balances classic and modern, with rich materials, deep colors, and a calm foundation that keeps the whole feeling refined.

The high ceilings and large windows give the spaces an open, bright feel, while warm beige and brown tones create a sense of calm and balance. Accents of green and red bring character and depth to the interior. Large artworks, luxurious lighting, and especially the kitchen create true statement moments within the design. Everything feels intentional, without ever feeling forced.

"The interior feels exactly how we hoped: warm, luxurious, and completely true to us and the character of the building. Every room just feels right, and comes together beautifully." - the client

An important part of the design was the home's flow. The sightlines from front to back stay open but can be subtly closed off when needed with bronze steel pivot doors and smoked glass. It's exactly that combination of openness, warmth, and luxury that makes this interior so strong. A home that not only looks beautiful, but also shows how atmosphere and functionality can work together perfectly.
