For a characterful farmhouse on an estate in Zwolle, I created a complete interior design where color and history come together. The homeowners' wish was clear: a bold, colorful interior that still honored the home's authentic character. At the same time, the limited space upstairs called for smart layout choices, fitting two bedrooms and two bathrooms in a way that felt both logical and comfortable.

The style can be described as modern Arts & Crafts with a classic twist, reflected in the rich color palette of olive green, bordeaux red, and navy blue, combined with vintage wood tones, brushed brass, and marble accents. Historic elements like wooden beams, decorative molding, and layered woodwork form the foundation, while custom solutions, like the en-suite sliding doors between the office and dining room with integrated cabinetry and a fireplace, elevate the design even further.

The layout and lighting were also chosen with balance and atmosphere in mind. By making smart use of sloped ceilings, walkways, and storage, the upper floor feels spacious and logical too. The layered lighting plan, combining recessed spotlights with ambient lighting, enhances both the architecture and the materials.
